How many of you coyote trappers still keep catchin' coyotes long after they are rubbed , just to end up dragging them over to the side and letting them rot down? Not ones you are payed to catch, but ones you spent good money to trap and took a loss on? At one point, where do you draw the line?
Like to hear from you guys on this...

I trap them for the love of it more times then not. I also feel it helps give the few fox and our cats a break. Mine are rubbed often by mid December here and most are worthless by now. That said my daughter has talked me into setting a few more in the mourning that girl has no mercy.

Ours around here aren't worth much so I don't skin um any more if I happen to be trapping a place I'll set for um. The ranchers hate um and the deer hunters take a good toll on them during 3 mos of deer season. The fox are comming back here I guess cause everyones out to get yotes, kinda like shoot on sight.

My yotes arent worth anything, so I just trap them for fun. I'm not a big numbers man anyway. I'm just a hobby trapper so "rubs", mange, and the such are not influencing my decision to trap (gas is though...lol).

I'll roll coyotes all year. The deer herd is squallid around here, as are rabbits and partridge. Never had coyotes in Maine before the 50's.
