Get some pics if you can so we can see what the country looks like there,Its hard to give a direct answer unless we can see what surrounding area looks like.Weedy fence lines, might have tracks, along drainage areas where animals travel,(ditches, low areas where water runs,Larry Gene Pate

Around the lake is a good place to look, ask where she sees it most. if there is enough cover, perhaps where it goes under a fence, you should try to set a snare, or make a blind set with a foot hold. if you can't find any defined paths that it/they are taking (it is still breeding season, so there is a very good chance of there being 2) try gang setting the area with a flat set and a dirt hole.

if you ahve snow, a hay set, along with a flat is a good choice, if you can get a hold of some animal heads, or a (untanned) deer, cow, or pig hide or even a dead chicken, put it at the base of a tree (if it is a chicken, try wireing it to the tree) and set a trap or 2 infront of it. that is my go-to set. if you only have scraps of meat, wire it about 2 1/2 feet in a tree or fence post, and make a little snow or dirt mound at the base of the tree and put a trap on there, preferably big trap so the fox has to put its paws on the mound to get to the bait.

as for sign, look for tracks, scat, places where he goes pee, even dens.

Where does she see the fox. Living on a lake sounds like a lot of neighbors.Take into consideration how close the ladies neighbors are with pets that might be free ranging to determine your use of snares & footholds. You might have to go to cages.

pee post is very productive this time of the year. i have a fox job todo but i can only set the chicken pen and thats what i have been using with good results furfishgame is right she should be able to tell your were she sees the fox.he's also right about the sign but do not use snares she has a dog and if shes worried about the fox hurting her dog then a snare will cause you a problem if you catch that dog.also tell her to put that dog up till you are threw because you don't want to catch her dog.if you can you can put a live chicken in a small cage and set the leg holds around the corners two traps max.the fox will goe around the cage trying to get the chicken and you will get that fox.i have also used a tape player with a bird distress call in a cagead done the same thing.
