Right now I have been using cable for my drowning slides for coon, but want to switch to chain. There is this lock in my MTP catalog that says it will work on 1/0 double loop chain. So my question is will that size chain work for coon or is it to small? Thanks

Chain is reliable and is more durable then cable. The main draw back is cost but if that is not an issue chain is great. I use chain a lot for beaver setups and it is very reliable for them and otter too.

there kinda a pain in the butt though, at least cable wraps up easy and is light... other then that chain is great.

Ive also thought about using chain, but it seems like a pain. I use cable now and it works fine. I have to replace a few every year because they get kinked up sometimes. But chain just seems like it would be too heavy, bulky and too easily tangled to be that much of an advantage. I dont know though, Ive never actually used it.
