LOL, hopefully not until late Dec..........since moving back to Iowa, figured I'd be back to using some rerod stakes again, especially since the frost gets much deeper than in KS. It;s just a pain to pull them in frozen ground.
After seeing Jason Dufresne's trap mod work and custom tools. I spoke with Jason about making a slide hammer, but for pulling rerod stakes. I received my stake puller.......and WOW, his craftmanship is first class.
It's one of those things, you see it first hand and simply know it's gonna make your life easier. Jason, good job, can't wait to put it to use.

Frozen stakes can be a back killer for sure, can put a guy out of the game for a few days if not done right! I jack mine out with a handy man jack and a sloted puller that slips under the stake head. Works great but is a bit heavy but easier on the back then pulling by the chain!!! Its easy to make theres a pic in the homemade trapping stuff post.

I Pound my stake in about 2" before i pull them by doing this it breaks the frost around them still not easy pulling but better then not doing this at all!
