This is either real late or just very early? I started with the 1 lath set-up but if the trap slipped off or the lath broke it took time to "troll" for the trap. Plus it may slip down when I go to set it. I found by using 2 laths wire together I can adjust the trap right were I want it to go and have a better chance if a lath breaks to get the trap back right away. The 2 laths wired together will put enough pressure to keep the trap from slipping but the rat will work the trap down the laths away from my ice chisel and damage! [/img]

That's a good idea. I used 1x1 grade stakes and drilled a bunch of oles in em, one every 10 inches I think. Well, actually my daughter drilled the holes. I just wired through the holes. Sure did chisel a few!
I like how they wont swing much with the double lath idea. I used 120's and stretched the springs away from each other with the grade stake through both eyes.

Great idea Law Dog!! Sounds like a simple fix to a problem a lot of rat trappers face.
