I would think this would be a pricey item. Most states they are protected or can one catch one per tag.I for one have never seen Paddle fish oil for sale.

$50-$60 a gallon seems fair. Its a fairly rare fish and like was said protected in some areas. Supply and demand. Awesome eating I might add and when we commercial fished we had a waiting list for Paddlefish. Some call it Shovelnose or Spoonbill Catfish also if anyones maybe heard it called that and not Paddlefish. It also brought a premium price, maybe thats one of the reasons it's so rare now? We're allowed 2 here a day now I think but I havent messed with one in years.

fish oil can be used in most lures, like mink, otter, canines and cats .
i for one have never worked with it billy i can't say how good the lure will be.to make a statement like that would be wroung on my part and i want do that till i have played with it a while.i will say this it should be good as a change up for other fish oil.
for 70.00 a gal it has to be a very rich and good oil.
billy did you smoke any meat like we talked about ?

Lol, I was lost for a second. Thought you were smoking it for human consumption. That paddlefish oil should be very rich I would think? I know our carp(asian carp espescialy) makes a darkish fragrant oil.
