Well, the 1.5 is prolly the double jaw. Basically thre is another set of "jaws" underneath the normal jaws that hold the critter. creating something similar to this... (( )) with the pan in the middle. the second "jaw" is closer together with the standered jaw then in that little diagram.
The purpose of the double jaw is to keep coon ect from getting there snout underneath the jaw and chewing there foot, the double jaw also acts sorta like lamination, dispersing the traps pressure over a larger area, so the animals foot is much more less likely to go numb, which also results in the critter not fighting the trap as hard.
hope that helps!

Mississippi On line they might just show the Standared jaw..The Double jaw will have an 2nd jaw under the Standard Jaw.
If you are just doing after coons and otters. This trap is hard to beat. What are you trapping for????Now that being said...{I'm gonna catch flack here} I don't like them..
All my traps are double duty.Double jaws IMO are not a good mink trap, but I use mink pans. For fox I don't like the way all the trash gets in between the jaws after a catch and they seam to freeze down faster. There is alot of guys that love that double jaw trap.
All my 1.5's are out-side laminated jaws and all are running 1.5 music wire springs.I do not center these traps.I don't like how they bed in the streams.I do how ever got flat 1/4 stock welded to the frame. The 1.5's I use on fox and coon on land. They will even hold what few yotes I catch. When I'm done with k-9's(before deer season) I take the pan tension off them, slap on the baker pans and ready for mink/coon in the streams...
After freeze up.{being in ole-miss,you don't need to worry to much}{After deer season)My #2's come out.I run #3 music wire springs on them..They are center swiveled and laminated also...
Hope this did confuse you too much LOL....

I currently have 17 1.75s, 12 regular jaw and 5 offset jaw, thought about laminating them. The new traps i was looking at are Dukes, can get the 1.5 regulars for about $60/dz, double for$70/dz, pre laminated for $80/dz. Regular 1.75s are $73/dz or Offsets for $77/dz
