i run around 90 by myself then me and my neibore run around 70 of his and split profit total theres 160 traps thats from late summer threw fall winter comes around i run around 50 alone and 20 with him, the majority of my line threw out winter in trees waterways dens and rat huts. mainly pcoket sets in creecks/rivers and blind sets with conibears with some, luer shot out. the reason for this is because minnesotas winters are bad for trapping land you can do it but its hard to work with all the snow so i choose to use fallen trees upright trees streams dens huts culverts ect. goodluck to all this season.

Just remember you guys, don't set more than you can handle and 10 good sets are better than 100 fair sets. When I snared heavy, I would have anywhere from 100 to 200 out but I was also setting marginal trails and multiple sets on a trail. I've had out max of 40 dp's so far this fall on 2 properties and over set them too but I'm trying to hit hard and move after just a few days.

I am in agreement with Catman, do not run more than you can check within your states regs. What catman didnt tell you was his catch percentage his first night this year. He had 29 dp's and 2 snares and caught 18 coon the first check. that same night was my 3rd check and I got a whopping 1 small coon. I almost wondered if the hadn't ran very well as it was a full moon till he texted me the picture of them on my fur shed floor. 18 out of 31 sets is a 58% catch rate which is almost unheard of in coon trapping. this shows that you don't need to run hundreds of traps to make a good catch. Set on sign and you will do well

when i was healthy i would run 150 land sets until jan and then hit the water and run 450 sets under our 72 hour check law for water but since the cancer i might run 40 if i run any
