Mark I looked at a tracking map of Ol Irene and it looked like she will be staying inland. Just west of me at the center and up through your dooryard! Batten down the hatches boys.
I just told the boy he was going to have to poop outside in the hurricane. He took it rather well. Lil Miss, not so much. I hope my neighbors nice lawn chairs blow up here. Finders keepers right? And maybe some of those kites and rocket we've lost will finally blow down!
In seriousness I hope Irene treats us all gently. Stay safe men!

---Ready for it----
-Picked up lawn stuffs, check. -Cut up some old barn boards full of nails for pool heater fuel, re-dulling my freshly sharpened saw. -Drained the pool some, check. -Helped the old lady down the street ready her yard. -Dug a 7'deep hole to slow down the water by my culverts, dammed the road levee style. -Tractor gas, check. -Water wings and lifejackets ready, check. -Canoe on upstairs deck-- to do tomorrow morning -Colman stove ready to make coffee when power goes out, check -Max Brand book half finished near couch, check. -Recipe for black lab, check.
Oh, I gotta take a picture of the kids. I told them when the power goes out we will have to poop outside. We put some TP in ziplock bags so it wont get wet.... Ha Ha, this is gonna be fun!
