Just to let you guys know. I am safe and sound. The Pagami Fire, that started in the B.W.C.A., is moving fast. I have it on good, first hand information that I am fine here.
Right now the fire is about 25 miles North northwest of me.
Let me tell you, I am very lucky to have a friend that deals with this stuff daily.
I will try you keep you updated.

Good luck to you, and don't stay too long if they tell you to leave. I'm down by Wisconsin Dells and we have gotten some of smoke that they say is from up there.

Well, I am sure just about everybody has heard about the big Pagami Creek fire that started in the BWCA on August 18, 2011. The fire has burned over 100,000 acres of land. People have been told to leave thier homes and places of business. As I type this the most southern finger of the fire is just 20 +/- miles from my home. But all is good here right now.
Well today right around 8:15 a.m. it was snowing here in Cook County Minnesota, and the fire area and Cook county has had snow and rain off and on all day. The weather guessers say we will have a low in the high 20's to low 30's.

Well friends, the past couple days have been helpful. It has been cool outside, lows in the 20's at night. The weather guessers say it will be warmer and windier again.
They have finally got to use dozers and other heavy machinery to cut out fire blocks. I the fire moves much more to the east it will hit the blow down area from 2009. there is lot of dead trees from the blow down.
Things are still fine at the house here.

On this mornings SIT report they've lowered the number of acres to 93k. Heard there had been some moisture over the area so that will help also raise the RH. Fires today just burn to much and to hot.
