Has fired up the woodstove this year? 34 degrees said the thermometer this morning. Frost on the windshield when we headed out to chase geese.
Something about wood heat, reddens the kids cheeks and makes their eyes droopy! Woo hoo!

i had mine going the past 2 nights...low 40's here but if its below 70 the woman is cold so i had to fire it up for her.....i graduated from a inside wood stove to a outside wood stove and man im glad i did...now the mess is outside and not all over my floor...besides the outside burner gives me a place to dispose of my animal bodies also....

I would like one of those outdoor wood boilers, I think anyway. I had also thought of getting a waste oil burner for the shop. For quite a few years I could have gotten hundreds of gallons of used oil from work. Right now I have a fire going in the house, shed, and testing the oil heat in the garage! Oh boy is it sissy season! Darned chilly this morning chasing the geese. Isn't it funny how in the fall you start a fire at 40 degrees, but in the spring you are tough enough to walk around at 32 outside all day in a T-shirt? Think my wife would say anything if I tried to stuff a few coons in the ol Vermont Castings in the living room? Maybe if I wrapped them in newspaper she wouldn't notice.... Oh, one more thing woodstove related. Anyone's wife start the fire? Is mine the only one that uses about a half cord of newspaper to do it? Shheeesh!

Woodfire?? It's going back to the 90's next weekend. Last couple of morning there has been a very tiny tinge of fall in the air. I'm not holding my breath, we are having August in Sept right now. Everything is still a month behind.
