I read on the post on another site a few well know trappers make a comment that IMO was a crazy comment! What the comments were if you dye your traps in what ever you use and not wax them its a waste of time , there is no gain by dying your traps ONLY well IMO this statement is wrong by all means !! ever use a untreated steel trap? what happens to it with in a few days?? it rusts and there is no way around this with nothing to protect the steel! Dye is what? A sealer right? Now take those same traps and dye them up real good nice thick even coat! what happens in a few days?? noting! what happens in a month?? nothing!! now what happens to these traps after a few months? it will start to bleed rust in some places but not the whole trap ever noticed this? Point proved right there!! don't get me wrong wax is the ultimate way to take care of your traps!! is it a must? no it is not! here is 3 pictures of traps from 3 to 35 year old traps i have owned my self and no one else owned these traps and have never been touched with a vinegar solution!! so dint state that a trap HAS TO BE WAXED TO MAKE THAT TRAP LAST LONGER! This will probably bring some fire I'm sure, but that is fine I'm a fact is fact person and dont believe everything i read!! This is a 3 year old trap only dyed never waxed! 30 year old trap only dyed never waxed! 35 year old trap only dyed no wax!
